Mountain Big Bogdo 

On the southern shore of the lake there is Mountain Big Bogdo. It is the only mountain of natural origin in the Caspian lowland. In a form of fantastic animal it rests on the shore of a huge pond. But in fact it is a large rock salt monolith formed 250 million years ago. Its color is very unusual, it varies from red to green at different times of the day and in different weather . The wind made Big Bogdo a "speaking mountain".At the foot of the mountain there is a labyrinth and unique karst caves. One of them is 1.5 kilometers deep. Big Bogdo is considered is a real geological museum in the open air.

The local people believe that the Big Bogdo Mountain is consecrated by the Dalai Lama and they come to worship it.
